So I’ve Been Lazy

It’s what I do best…

Some things I’ve failed to discuss:

Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court
Confirm her. No I probably won’t like the way she rules on things, but the President gets to nominate, and barring some sort of obviously disqualifying something or other, the nomination should be approved. Yes I know if one side fights every single nomination and the other side concedes that elections matter, it unbalances the playing field. Still, elections matter.

North Korea
Nothing new to see here, move along please. The world has been postponing dealing with this regime for longer than I’ve been alive. That’s probably been the best solution (unless of course, you happen to live in North Korea), but eventually someone somewhere is going to have to deal with it. It’s going to be ugly, and unpopular when it happens, but it’s going to be necessary nonetheless.

Iran
See comments about North Korea Elections matter. Or at least they should matter. We should push for a simple, people cast votes, votes get counted, people trust the results, elections matter. Yes we could stand a bit of that here at home too.

Stanley Cup
I guess the NHL building it’s marketing campaign on the shoulders of Sid the Kid is working out OK.

Dallas Stars
I like Dave Tippet, always have. Like Joe Nieuwendyk as well. Marc Crawford, well he’s been the coach in Colorado and L.A. so it’s not been acceptable to like him. But now that he’s the Star’s coach all seems well. I’m surprised that the Stars stuck with Tippet as long as they did given how rare a decent playoff run has been lately, even though I don’t think he’s responsible for the lack of success.

I’d make some sort of lame comment about posting more, but this is me we’re talking about.
