Gas Prices Are High
True enough. Oil companies are making a bunch of money too. True enough. Still, can someone explain to me exactly how raising taxes on Oil companies is supposed to help lower the price of gas?
I’m not saying it wont work like that, just that I don’t see how…

Oil companies aren’t making much money, when you look at their profits as a percentage of their expenditures — typically about 9%.
I wasn’t trying to imply that they were out of line…just that there was a lot of money involved.
Still, I don’t see how raising taxes on them is gonna lower the price of gas.
